“‘Temerario means playful, bold, and courageous,” says Andrea Baldi, the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini Americas. It also keeps with Lamborghini’s tradition of naming their supercars with famous fighting bulls and in this case, a fierce and brave one from 1875.

The Temerario is the latest supercar from Sant’Agata, and a direct replacement of the best-selling Huracan. Gone is the V10 and in its place is a flat-plane crank V8 and a plug-in hybrid system that falls in line with Lamborghini’s other electrified vehicles like the Revuelto and Urus SE for ‘the most complete super sports car lineup on the market,’ says Baldi. But park your cynicism for just a moment because this V8 is something special.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine will rev up to a scintillating 10,000 rpm, higher than any Porsche 911 GT3, and is more motorbike than supercar in our books. Backed up by three electric motors, the Temerario produces 907 hp and will sprint from 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds. We asked but there’s nothing related to the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh engine that competes in IMSA. No sound clips yet. We’re still waiting to hear this bull roar, but expect a GT3 program announcement in the coming months.

We had a chance to check out Lamborghini’s latest in person, and were glad to see a properly spec’d example: Temerario in Verde Mercurius with the Alleggerita Package, an optional track-focused package that’s equipped with a carbon fibre front splitter, side skirts, underbody panels, and wheels, carbon interior door panels, and a titanium muffler that saves weight for a sharper drive. Andrea is optimistic and expects that the take rate for the Alleggerita Package to be no less than 40% of Temerario sales.

In addition to all the aero, carbon fibre, and sticky Bridgestone rubber, our biggest surprise was the interior space. Compared to the somewhat cramped Huracan, especially the convertible, the Temerario is cavernous. My six-foot figure has no issue slotting into the cabin, and it’s even got the same sports seats as the Huracan STO. There’s a meaningful chunk of storage space behind the seats and under the center console, and there’s a sizable front trunk as well.

Customization? Andrea tells us that the sky’s the limit. The 2026 Lamborghini Temerario will start customer deliveries sometime in 2026 with an MSRP of $432,490 CAD.
