TORONTO, Ontario - Porsche fans and music festival goers will have something to be extra excited about this weekend. Porsche has partnered with NXNE (North by Northeast), a music festival in the Toronto Port Lands running from Friday June 16th through to Sunday, June 25th, and is offering a “Pop Up” shop experience right in the midst of the festival grounds.
Following the success of the “Pop Up” experience in other cities like New York City, London, and Shanghai, the Sound of Porsche is there to offer a multi-sensory adventure where guests are able to interact, explore, and be inspired by the storied automaker’s past, present, and future.
We had a chance to pop by the area to experience it ourselves, and were greeted by a convincing replica of the Porsche 919 Hybrid that won Le Mans last year in 2016. Hopping inside the tent, we got to sit in a VR (virtual reality) demonstration, where a track instructor flung us around in the new Porsche Panamera. There were also four media stations where users can choose the digital record of their preference and play it on the big screen to experience its sights and sounds. This included videos from Le Mans and Porsche’s driving schools.
Beside that is the “Design Corner”, where visitors are able to creatively sketch what they believe is the true “Sound of Porsche” and have their artwork submitted to social media for a chance to win a spot in the newly launched Porsche Sport Driving School Canada (a value of $2,500 and come on, who doesn’t want to drift Porsches around a track?)
If you’re around the Toronto Port Lands (51 Commissioners St, Toronto), be sure to check out the latest and greatest from Stuttgart, and to experience the history and essence of the famed Porsche brand. This is one opportunity that you don’t want to miss.
